Holon

A Holon is something that is simultaneously a whole and a part.

A cell is a whole in its own right — and a part of an organ, which is a whole and a part of a body. An Individual is whole — and part of a Group, which is whole and part of a Community, which is whole and part of the Living System of Earth, which is whole and part of All Creation within ØNE.

Everything real is like this. Wholeness and parthood are not opposites to choose between; they are the two faces of every living thing. A holon that forgets it is a part becomes a cancer; a holon that forgets it is a whole becomes a slave. Health, at every scale, is both at once: full sovereign integrity and full participation in the larger wholes.

This is why the LIØNSBERG System is holofractal — the same pattern repeating at every scale (Holofractal Omnifederation), from the Individual to the whole. Each Instantiation of The Prototype is sovereign, a whole in its own right, and simultaneously a part of the learning, co-creating body of All. Each Part in the Kit of Parts is a whole capability and a part of the greater whole. An order of Holons is a Holarchy; a living whole composed of living wholes is a Superorganism.
