The Arc of Play
The journey of a Player, from first touch to fluency — so you always know where you stand, and what comes next.
1. The Invitation — a few minutes. The Invitation reaches you through a trusted hand — or finds you on its own. Something deep in you says yes. You respond, you subscribe, and — when you are ready to step from resonance into commitment — you make The Pledge — and take your stand, openly, on The Gameboard.
2. The Orientation — 90 minutes, together. An orientation gathering, by email invitation via the Substack: hear the Story and the Game live, meet the others, ask everything. Your sponsor — the one who invited you — walks beside you here.
3. The First Gathering — your Circle's own 90 minutes. You gather your two or three, and The LIØNSBERG Quick Start Guide walks you through it: read aloud together, sense together, seal the Circle, choose the Quest, pass the flame. When you seal — send word (Reaching Us), and by your Circle's consent, take your place on The Gameboard.
4. The First Season — 90 days. Your first Quest. The weekly Turns. The first harvest into a Story at the turning. Somewhere in these ninety days, the Game stops being something you read about and becomes something you are playing.
5. The Blue Belt Journey — season after season. Roughly three years — a dozen seasons of questing, mending, harvesting, and passing the flame — grows basic fluency in the Way: what a dojo would call the Blue Belt. Beyond it stretches the seven-year journey towards mastery. From there the deeper paths open — the Ascent, the Guilds, the Gates, still being articulated in the Workshop — and the Eternal Divine Play goes on, without end.
At every step of the Arc, two hands hold you: your sponsor — the one who passed you the flame, reachable through your orientation, first gathering, and first ninety days, as one day you will be for the two or three you invite — and the always-open doors of Reaching Us.
